Sunday, April 9 Tea Time

I got up this morning very early today and I forgot my Mom is taking Alden back to his father today instead of him being picked up so we’re starting today’s Tea Time early today.  Alden and I have been relaxing after this very busy week and a cuppa or two sounds great.  We’ve got two more new Teahaus teas for today.  The first choice is a seasonal flavor, Luigi Amaretto.  It’s a mixture of apple pieces, raisins, rose hips, roobios, almond pieces and natural flavor.  The leaves smell sweet like almonds.  Being a roobios tea it’s caffeine free.

It infuses to a dark golden color and smells nice but not very specific.  Alden says he can taste the apples and the almonds.  He likened it to a fruity candy taste.  He says he likes the tea a lot but can’t specify the taste.  I like it a lot too.  However, I can’t place the taste either. I don’t get the almond taste I expected or amaretto taste.  It’s kinda a subtle apple and raisin taste.  It is sort of a fruity candy taste like Alden describes it.  It’s very good but it’s hard to describe.

The next and final Teahaus tea is Summer Romance.  This is a blend of apple pieces, rose hips, hibiscus blossoms, elderberries, freeze-dried strawberry and raspberry pieces, vanilla pieces and natural flavor.  It’s caffeine free because it’s herbal tea.  The tea mixture smells very fruity and full of berry scents.

It infuses to deep purple red shade and smells of berries and vanilla. The taste is quite heavy in fruit flavor and vanilla.  For my taste, the vanilla is too strong.  It’s a little overwhelming.  However, Alden is fine with it. He says it’s delicious and likes the amount of vanilla in it.  I’m going to have to see if Teahaus has another fruit tea without vanilla in it to try out next time.

Alden and I have plans to go to Teahaus the Saturday before Mothers Day for Full English Tea Service as a special treat.  Included in it is unlimited tea so that should be fun!  We plan to do a special Field Trip Tea Time from there on location just like we did with Jackson Coffee Company.  I’ll be calling them for reservations this week.  I wish we had more Teahaus teas to taste right now but those give us a good sense of their quality.  I was pretty happy with them.  Alden loved them.  Alden returns this Thursday for the Easter weekend and we will have some tastings then.  Please join us.  Remember pinkies up! 🍵
